Recent visit to Lodge Chichester 313 in Carrickfergus Northern Ireland

22 May 2016

On the 13th May 2016, we visited our good friends at Lodge Chichester 313 over in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland.

Again as always, the hospitality was first class and we were treated to a trip to Dublin on Saturday 14th, where we were given a very informative tour of Freemasons Hall by Bro. Keith and a great day was had by all. A special meeting of Lodge Chichester took place in one of the lodge rooms within, where the RWM of Lodge Craigielea was presented with a fine gift to commemorate the occasion from the WM and brethren of Lodge Chichester, followed by a few drinks at the bar downstairs when the meeting was closed.
The brethren of Lodge Craigielea would like to thank the WM and brethren of Lodge Chichester 313, the brethren at Freemasons hall in Dublin and everyone at Newry Masonic Hall for making us very welcome, ensuring that we were well looked after and for making the whole weekend a very memorable experience that will not be forgotten.

Bro. George Cook PM

01 December 2015

Sadly, Brother George Cook has passed to the Grand Lodge above. George joined Lodge Craigielea in 1960 and was RWM in 1978. He moved to Australia with his family in 1982, where he continued his Masonic career. He passed away on Friday 27th November 2015 in Perth Western Australia, aged 84. His wife Cathy also sadly passed away a few short weeks before that. The RWM and brethren of Lodge Craigielea pass on their condolences and sympathies to his family. George never forgot his mother Lodge and always sent a letter each year after the Installation to pass on his best wishes to the Lodge for the year ahead. We will always remember him.

Regarding our Installation on 9th October 2015

12 October 2015

I would like to say a big thank you to all the Brethren who attended our Annual Installation, particularly those who travelled some distance from Aberdeen and Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland to support us. I was overwhelmed with the attendance on the evening and hope to visit as many of the lodges represented as I can during my year as Master.

Special thank you to my Installing Master - John SL Morrison IPM and David W Duff PM and to MD Connel PM for all his help and assistance. Finally to all the Brethren who have taken office, I wish you all the best and hope that we can take Lodge Craigielea forward together in the coming year.

Thank you

30 September 2015

I would like to thank all Office Bearers and Brethren of Lodge Craigielea for the support offered to me during my term in the Chair, over the last twelve months. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have been RWM of my mother lodge and enjoyed my year very much. I would also like to thank all the visitors who supported us at all our regular and social meetings and look forward to meeting you all again soon.

As the Annual Installation is drawing near I would like to wish all the Brethren who are taking up a new Office for the ensuing year, the very best. I am sure you will all enjoy it as much as I have and continue to work together for the benefit of the Lodge.

Special Meeting

30 May 2015

A special meeting was held on the 30th May 2015, when we had the pleasure of receiving a visitation of Brethren from Northern Ireland. On this occasion we conferred an exemplification of an E.A degree, in order that the brethren from the Irish Constitution could witness how it is done under the Scottish Constitution and by Lodge Craigielea.

After the meeting there was an excellent dinner and harmony in the lounge and I would personally like to thank all who attended, more especially the brethren in our social committee who made the day a great success.

Annual Chartered Lodges Meeting

23 May 2015

Many thanks to the RWM and Brethren of Lodge Wallace St. Hugh, Crosshill, number 1212 on the Roll of the Grand Lodge of Scotland for hosting this years meeting and being excellent hosts.

All the visitors had the pleasure of witnessing an E.A degree being conferred on the latest member of the Lodge Wallace St.Hugh and the representative of each of the Chartered Lodges present received a very kind gift on behalf of their Mother lodge, to mark the occasion.

Lodge Craigielea will host the event next year, we hope hope it will be as much of a success as this years and look forward to the company of one and all.
